Lia Kali first discovered music at home and when she was just sixteen she rode her bike over all the jams in Barcelona. It’s in the jams where she made friend with many musicians and artists of the city and where she dialogues with reggae, jazz, soul and rap. Since then she has never stopped singing. Lia makes the leap from jams to other live stages of Barcelona with a bunch of projects, such as the Amy Winehouse tribute she leaded. That’s how she realised her love with the stage was much more than a first-glimpse love: stage is her place to be. With the pandemic and already tired of singing other people’s songs, she begins to write her own songs and discovers the personal healing that the process implies: this is how she begins to compose the soundtrack of the falls and stumbles of her daily life. In 2022 she published a handful of singles that went viral on social networks, but it is not until the spring of 2023 that her very first album ‘Contra Todo Pronóstico’ is published, an album that in a few months summs millions of streams and views on platforms and Tik Tok. Support tour for the album has taken the artist and her solid instrumental trio on a round of 50 dates including notable shows at Spain’s top festivals such as Viña Rock, La Mar de Músicas or Cruilla, sold-out nights on Spanish main cities’ venues and first appearences in Colombia, Mexico, Central Park and LAMC in NYC-USA, France, Germany and Portugal. Lia Kali is one of the most sought-after voices on the urban scene at the moment and with her first album and tour she has already made it clear to us that any label falls short.
